Christ Church Concerts are hosting Liesl Stolz (flute) and Jana van der Walt (harp) at 3pm on Sunday August 7.
Liesl won the 12th international Kuhlau flute competition in Germany and is a runner-up to others in Italy and Romania. She performed the Ibert concerto with the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra in 2020 – widely regarded as the most difficult flute concerto ever written.
Jana was the principal harpist of the Music Is A Great Investment (MIAGI) orchestra, with whom she performed in concert halls in Europe, including the Berliner Philharmoniker, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, Hamburg Elbphilharmonie and the Royal Palace in Stockholm.
Their programme includes Jules Massenet’s Meditation de Thais, Clair de Lune by Claude Debussy, Christoph Willibald Gluck’s Dance of the Blessed Spirits, Georges Bizet’s Intermezzo from Carmen, Vittorio Monti’s Czardas and Ladies in Lavender by Nigel Hess.
Tickets are R130 from Quicket or call Anne on 082 218 0100.
