Cape Town City Ballet’s festive season production of Veronica Paeper’s A Christmas Carol is being staged at the Artscape theatre until Friday December 29.
The Charles Dickens tale about the mean spirited Scrooge features Marcel Meyer in the lead role. Over 200 children from across Cape Town auditioned for the production with 60 being selected who will experience the magic of appearing on stage with a professional company.
On Saturday December 23, there will be a children’s stage parade after the 2pm performance.
A year-end festive performance will take place on Friday December 29 with an additional 20-minute show featuring choreography by Sean Bovim. There will be excerpts from some of his works such as Swing Time and Queen@the Ballet.
