Megan-Geoffrey Prins, the 2019 Standard Bank Young Artist for Music, will present a solo recital exploring the multi-faceted nature of piano repertoire, at the Baxter Theatre on Saturday July 27, at 7.30pm. Prins recently returned to South Africa after spending five years living and performing abroad. He will play the Variations on a Theme by Corelli; Carl Vine’s Piano Sonata; five preludes by Clade Debussy, including favourites such as Voilles, Les collines d`Anacapri, and La fille aux cheveux de lin (The Girl with the Flaxen Hair); and a new work, Finding Being, which Prins commissioned from Arthur Feder for his performance at the National Arts Festival this year. The evening will end with Franz Liszt’s Mephisto Waltz No. 1. Tickets cost R150 through Webtickets.
