An ode to Sarda

Mary Moodie, South African Riding for the Disabled Association (SARDA) volunteer, Plumstead

A sad Sarda tale

We started small and worked our way

Made Sarda what it is today

For children who can’t skip or dance

We give them a deserving chance

To sit upon a horse with pride

And smile to find that they can ride

But now we have a plight in hand

We have to leave our precious land

And need to find another site

To start again and make things right

Fields for our horses, trees for shade

Space for our buildings, assistance, aid

Please help us overcome this pain

And we’ll make Sarda great again.
