Mary Moodie, Plumstead
Dear loyal people of Cape Town
Don’t let this crisis get you down
You know that you are not to blame
But must make changes all the same
Our precious water needs to flow
The levels in the dams must grow
Don’t panic find a way to save
A little thought the road will pave
Be clever make your ration last
A dirty car will go as fast
Your clothes don’t need a daily wash
Forget the need for looking posh
Your plants and grass will bloom again
In winter with the welcome rain
So do your best don’t let us down
And help restore our arid town.
