Bergvliet High School pupils will exhibit their work at Blue Route Mall during the annual Bergvliet High Matric Visual Art Expo, from Wednesday October 18 to Friday October 20.
The exhibition, open from 9am to 5pm daily, is mostly a display of matric art, but it will also include work by some of the school’s Grade 10s and 11s.
“Having one’s work showcased to the wider public will bring a greater expectation in the quality of work needed to be world class,” said the school’s principal Patricia Demas.
Saroj Shukla, head of the school’s visual art department, said 14 matric pupils would exhibit work in a variety of media.
“I have no hesitation in saying that you will thoroughly enjoy watching a good command over a variety of media and mixed media. They have been on a long journey to reach this point, and it is so satisfying to see them growing from strength to strength.”
The school’s art department will also be selling a 2024 calendar featuring the work produced by pupils.
