Cheers to helping elephant orphanage

Lukhanyo Gwayi and Tumi Mogale of Plumstead listen to Les Ansley talking about the gin he has made using elephant dung, at the recent Gin Tasting Evening at Constantia Old Village. His wife, Paula Ansley, came up with the idea to infuse elephant dung in gin after going on safari in Kenya and hearing about how particular elephants are in their browsing habits and yet how little of the plant material they actually digest. The result was Indlovu Gin. The Hoedspruit Elephant Rehabilitation and Development Trust receives 15% of the profits from the sale of Indlovu Gin to support their work in setting up and running South Africa’s first elephant orphanage.
