Those who visit the grounds of Christ Church Constantia on Saturday November 9 may end up on a lovely beach in Mauritius. A holiday on the Indian Ocean island (worth R40Â 000) is first prize in a limited R500 ticket competition held in conjunction with the church fete on that day.
Second prize is a trip within the Western Cape (value R10Â 000).
The Christ Church community has been abuzz with activity in preparation for the fete, its biggest fund-raiser of the year – and now it’s all systems go!
Stalls include plants, books, cakes and preserves, linen, white elephant….Â
Outside vendors include Gently Worn Evening wear, One Percent jeans, Gift Guru selling Christmas gifts and decor, handmade leather bags, Threads that Bind Us, Fast Fred (upmarket Shweshwe fabric items and golf wear), Stitch Witches for TEARS and Art by Amy Lester.
Entertainment on an outside stage will feature Scottish dancing, a magician show and a marimba/steel band. From 11am live bank JR & The Hitman will entertain until the fete ends at 3pm.
The church shop, selling all kinds oif household items, toys, jewellery and books at bargain prices, will be open. All proceeds go to Community Outreach.
A large stretch tent with hay bales, tables and chairs will be available for relaxation. Sustenance includes egg and bacon rolls, boerie rolls, burgers, pancakes, tea/coffee/cooldrinks, fudge and popcorn.Â
In a R25 ticket competition, weekends away at Premier Hotels, cases of wine, spa treatments, FitFood vouchers and Utopia Garden Services vouchers can be won.
A jumping castle and face painting will occupy the children.Â
In fact, the whole place will be jumping from 8.30am. Entry is by voluntary donation.
