Table Mountain National Park (TMNP) fire management department is planning to conduct biodiversity burns during March and April. Ideal conditions are required with temperatures under 25°C, moderate winds, two to three days after light rain has fallen.
These prescribed burns will take place at:
Cape Point
Black Hill from Sun Valley to Glencairn
Roodeberg in the Capri Village area
Off Orphen Road in Tokai
Constantia Nek
The fires will be supervised and managed strictly by the TMNP fire department.
All owners and occupiers of adjacent properties may lodge written queries or objections to the proposed open burning with the City of Cape Town within seven days after publication of this notice to the City’s Air Pollution Control section at 021 590 5200; via fax to 021 590 5215 or email to Bronwyn.Davidson@capetown.gov.za
