The First Thursday initiative has become popular in the Cape Town city centre where art galleries, shops and restaurants keep
their doors open after hours on the first Thursday evening of every month. Now this trend has come to Constantia Courtyard
where they will be doing the same thing every month. Mark Alexander, who has been managing Melissa’s for the past
year, said he and other shop owners have jumped on the bandwagon. He says it’s about giving back to their regulars who will
be able to enjoy food, wine and shopping.
