Cape Mental Health’s event coordinator, Greg Damster, from Wynberg, is putting on his last Cape Town International Kite Festival this year as he will be retiring, after six years with Cape Mental Health and several decades of working in events.
Assistant event coordinator, Corné Mouton, from Bellville, will take hold of the reins and help Cape Mental Health fly in the future.
The 25th Cape Town International Kite Festival, in support of Cape Mental Health, takes place in Muizenberg on Saturday October 26 and Sunday October 27. This year’s theme is “Let Hope Fly”.
Kiters from seven countries – Bulgaria, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Turkey, the UK and South Africa – will be flying their creations and promoting mental wellness.
There will also be free kite-making workshops, live entertainment, stalls and rides for children. Tickets cost R40 or R15 for children younger than 12 at the gate and on http://bit.ly/CTKiteFest-2019-Quicket.
