The Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra and the Cape Town Philharmonic Youth Orchestra will present an online concert called Jordan’s Gift to bid farewell to 16-year-old Fairways resident Jordan Brooks who is set to take up a scholarship to the prestigious Chetham School of Music in Manchester in the UK.
Brooks, a violinist, is the winner of the 2019 National Youth Music Competition and the Cape Town Philharmonic Youth Orchestra’s concertmaster.
He will be joined by pianists Tertia Visser-Downie and Gerhard Joubert, violinist Refiloe Olifant and cellist Graham du Plessis for the fundraising performance on Sunday August 9, at 3pm.
They will play works by Brahms, Sarasate, Vivaldi, Mendelssohn, Dvorak and Ponce.
Nic Barrow of Le Lude wine farm in Franschhoek has given the CPO a magnum of 2012 Le Lude Cap Classique, valued at R1 840 to raffle.
