Kirstenhof police were part of a joint operation involving 95 officers from various law enforcement agencies including Metro police last Friday, June 9.
Briefing for the operation took place at Pollsmoor prison where officers were briefed by Kirstenhof station comman-
der Lieutenant Colonel June Cilliers.
The operation focused on drunk driving, robberies and searching of suspected drug dens.
In Lynx Way, Westlake, a 40-year-old man was arrested for being in possession of 12 bank bags of dagga while in Otto Crescent, a 35-year-old man was arrested for being in pos-
session of eight mandrax tablets and two dagga stoppe. Both men were due to appear in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
Roadblocks were held in Westlake Drive, Steenberg Road and Main Road and 13 people were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

The operation was also supportedbyneighbourhood watches who helped with high visible patrols in the area and supplied officers with something warm to drink.
Lieutenant Colonel Cilliers thanked everyone for their commitment and dedication in the fight against crime. “Together we can make a difference” was the message she left them with.
