The sun shone, the soup was hot as Constantia Valley buzzed with staff from different organisations and companies volunteering their time and resources to non-profit organisations on Mandela Day, on Monday July 18. The Women of Westlake (WOW) were particularly busy, having organised events including painting murals, serving soup to pupils on their first day back at Westlake Primary School and to the elders of the village. The Drill Hall walls vibrated with the laughter of 200 children from the community in an event organised by Sharing our Ubuntu Legacy (SOUL) with Orphan Care Foundation, Kirstenhof Police Women’s Network and Laughter Yoga Cape Town.
