Police have arrested a Grassy Park man in connection with the murder of a Wynberg woman.
Lizel van der Linde, 44, was found dead in her house at 18 Sydney Road on July 6, las year (“Concerned about crime,” Bulletin July 13, 2017).
Wynberg police spokesperson Captain Ntomboxolo Nqunqeka said fingerprints had been found on a knife at the crime scene. Police had found similar knives at the suspect’s Grassy Park home.
He had not been home but was arrested in Belhar on Monday January 22.
The suspect has been sent for psychiatric evaluation and is due to appear in Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on February 23.
