Proud Capetonian

Mikayla Walawegen loves penguins and painted two of them at Boulders Beach.
Six-year-old Mikayla Walawegen, who goes to an art school in Constantia, loves penguins and painted two of them at Boulders Beach during lockdown.
This was after her art teacher Sue Nepgen asked her to take part in a project on “What makes me happy or proud about living in Cape Town or South Africa”. Mikayla’s painting will be used in a proposal by a professor at Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital who wants to host an international conference in Cape Town on child neurology and development.
