Rodney Ward, Wynberg
Is it at all possible for you to assist us in getting Communicare to respond to numerous complaints by residents and myself, concerning water wastage over more than six months at 22 Welesley Court, Durban Road, Wynberg.
I reported the problem to Communicare call centre on Friday September 23 (case number 05025) and followed up with emails.
It is now over three weeks and the problem has not been solved. After too many attempts I now ask for the Constantiaberg Bulletin’s assistance in getting Communicare to understand the current lack of water in our dams.
On September 29, Communicare responded by email: “Thank you for your email. The matter is currently under investigation and accurate feedback will be provided in the morning.”
The Bulletin asked Communicare to comment on Tuesday October 4. Communicare’s Michelle Matthee responded on Tuesday October 18: “After a thorough investigation, we have learnt that the leak was not resolved within a reasonable period. We are addressing the inconsistencies in our internal procedures
that gave rise to the delay in responding. Numerous attempts were made to contact the
tenant to gain access to the unit to assess the problem. However, these were initially unsuccessful. We can confirm that the matter has now been resolved. We
aspire to a higher level of service and are committed to improving service levels and ensuring all complaints are resolved timeously. We care about the environment and have been planning to undertake water audits throughout our complexes together with conducting a
water-wise campaign.This
will launch within the
next few months. We invite individuals to report any water wastage at our properties by calling our call centre on 0800 266 737.”
