Two men forced their way into a Southfield home and pepper-sprayed the occupants before ransacking the house, last Thursday, police say.
Police responded to the robbery in Victoria Road, at 11.15am, said Diep River police spokesman Constable Zak Marais.
The robbers, who fled with two flat-screen TVs a cellphone and a wallet with an undisclosed amount of cash, are still at large.
Meanwhile, there have been growing reports of water-meter thefts in the Southfield area, according to Constable Marais.
• Police acting on a tip-off arrested a 34-year-old man and seized an unlicensed revolver and 28 packets of tik at a Lynx Way house in Westlake, on Friday May 13, said Kirstenhof police spokeswoman Sergeant Deidre Solomons.
On their way back to the police station, officers searched a group of men in nearby Ibis Road and found one-and-a-half mandrax tablets on a 38 year-old man whom they arrested.
Both men appeared in Wynberg Magistrates’ Court on Monday May 16.
