Two suspects are in police custody after they allegedly robbed a house in Wynberg on Monday February 26.
They were apprehended by an armed response officer from Fidelity ADT, who was responding to a call from a client in the area.
“We deployed Officer Dumisani Ntshanka just after 2pm on Monday to investigate a report of suspicious activity in Prospect Hill Road.
“On his arrival, he noticed an unidentified man hiding on the next door property and also saw that one of the house’s windows was broken,” said Jade Hanning, Cape Town South district manager for Fidelity ADT.
Officer Ntshanka questioned the suspect who claimed that he was working on the property.
“When our officer noticed another suspect inside the house, he immediately called for back-up.
“Together with his colleague, they managed to apprehend the two suspects. On searching the property they found a bag of items that had allegedly been stolen from the house,” says Ms Hanning.
Wynberg police soon arrived to take the suspects into custody.
“I must thank the resident who initially raised the alarm when she spotted suspicious activity on the next-door property. Our neighbours are our best allies in the fight against crime,” said Ms Hanning.
