The community bid farewell to Kirstenhof resident Richard Saner, general manager at the Westlake United Church Trust, at his funeral and memorial service on Friday February 28.

Mr Saner passed away from a sudden illness on February 20.

He had been general manager since 2016 and had a background in journalism and business management. In his time at the Westlake United Church Trust, he made a huge impact on staff, friends and partners with his wonderful sense of community, passion, drive, energy, humour and faith in the Lord, said Veloshni Baker, Westlake United Church Trust head of administration.

She said Mr Saner would be remembered for his desire and passion to assist those in need.

“’He will be sorely missed by the trustees, management and staff of Westlake United Church Trust. Our deepest sympathy to Claire, Shaun and Luke and his loving family. Hamba Kahle Richard. Tot ons weer mekaar sien,” Ms Baker said.
