Dear Capetonians, let’s remember that we are not the only place in the world with water shortages – let us be strong and concerned for other people and stop worrying about our lawns.
In other Mediterranean places in the world lawns go brown over the summer and recover green and succulent with winter rains – which we must hope we get. We are grateful for a mountain that has clouds on top, the south-easter keeping us cool, and most of all the north-west winds in winter – we are lucky, and we have been
lucky for a long time.
Let’s stop complaining, have courage, and get on with saving every drop.
