If you live in Bergvliet, Meadowridge or Wynberg you are likely to notice some roadworks taking place over the next few days.
These areas have been earmarked for various traffic-calming measures.
It will include the installation of speed humps, raised intersections and pedestrian crossings.
The following roads will be affected:
• Ladies Mile in Bergvliet
• Bergvliet Road and Firgrove Way in Meadowridge
• Harvery, Lancaster and Leincester roads in Wynberg
Work began in the service road alongside Ladies Mile, next to Sweet Valley Primary School, in Bergvliet, on Tuesday August 23. The work will run simultaneously and take up to 10 days to complete.
“Most of these installations are implemented around schools, meaning they will slow down traffic, thus, making it safer for more vulnerable road users such as children walking and riding to school, cyclists and pedestrians,” said mayoral committee member for urban mobility Rob Quintas.
