A brand new bicycle valued at about R48 000 has been recovered by Diep River Crime Prevention Unit.
Constable Ashley Adonis, Constable Donovan Katzke and Constable Sanelisekile Benzi were conducting routine patrols in Canon Road, Plumstead on Wednesday May 30 at about 1pm when they noticed a man acting suspiciously and riding a new bicycle.
They stopped the man and asked where he got the bicycle. The man could not supply a response and arrested him on charges of possession of presumed stolen property.
Diep River police are now looking for the owner of the bicycle. Anyone with information can call 021 710 7300.
