On Friday April 7, South Africans protested in their numbers after President Jacob Zuma’s latest cabinet reshuffle which prompted ratings agencies Standard & Poor’s and Fitch to downgrade the country’s sovereign debt to “junk” status.
From Muizenberg to the city centre, thousands gathered to create human chains.
Other marches and protests are planned, and on Tuesday April 18 members of Parliament are expected to vote on a motion of no confidence.
