Four men were arrested after they allegedly attempted to break into a house in Dragoon Road, Plumstead yesterday.
The complainant had arrived home and found the men on his property.Â
He alerted one of his neighbours for assistance and notified Diep River SAPS.Â
Two officers responded to the call and searched for the vehicle that was seen leaving the scene.
It was later spotted close to a local shopping centre in Claremont.
The officers attempted several times to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused and a chase ensued.Â
The vehicle eventually came to a stop after causing an accident with the members on the corners of Vineyard Road and Main Road, Claremont.
The officers searched the vehicle and found house break-in implements inside.Â
The suspects, aged between 26 and 32 years, were arrested on the scene.Â
They face charges of attempted house break-in, possession of house break-in implements and resisting arrest.
The suspects will appear at the Wynberg Magistrates Court soon.
