I feel for the Blochliger family (“Angry outbursts as trial postponed again”, Bulletin, November 24). When my niece Vicky McLachlan was murdered, it took seven years before the trial of the murderers ended.
There were endless delays and postponements, innumerable reasons why the trial got postponed repeatedly. The system is inefficient, the courts overworked and the accused know exactly how to play the system to keep delaying the trial.
My sympathies are with the family as I know just how hard it is to go through such a process.
