Clive Jacobs, Lavender Hill
The community of Wynberg, Wittebome and Lavender Hill, where I come from, has lost a diva, a mother to so many kids and youth.
Enid Thomas Fester died on Thursday August 6 and she was buried on Saturday August 15 from the All Saints Church in Muizenberg.
Ms Fester was more than a friend but an inspiration and counsellor, a woman with a zest for life, a carer, a sharing woman, kind and compassionate.
She was a real child and youth activist who managed a low costing after-school care which kept her busy as she lost her husband a couple of years ago.
Enid lived a quiet life after her retirement but was well known for her cooking and catering.
I am writing this letter is because she was really inspired by my community work and outreach projects.
She really motivated me. I am going to miss you, Ms Fester, your light will shine upon those you loved forever.
