Help animals
This winter pack a Wagging Winter Shoebox to keep a township pet warm at the Mdzananda Animal Clinic in Khayelitsha. Pack a box of a kitten, puppy, dog or cat. Fill it with goodies to keep them warm and healthy. Items to include can be a soft or hard food, blanket, a warm water bottle of beanbag, Hills A/D tin food for recovering pups and kittens. Drop it off at the spot in Constantia by contacting Ann at 082 414 4771.
Car boot sale
The South African Riding for the Disabled Association (SARDA) will have its next car boot sale on Saturday August 17 at the SARDA Centre in Brommersvlei Road, Constantia from 8:30am until 12:30pm. Entry is free, for traders it’s R80. There will be ample parking. Refreshments will be on sale. Contact Bridget on 082 777 0767 for more information.
Yarn festival
The first Cape Town yarn festival will take place tomorrow, Friday August 9 at the Kommetjie Primary School Hall from 8:30am till 5pm. Meet the best South African Indie Dyers and fibre producers and observe demonstrations or participate in the great selection of workshops on offer. Meals on Wheels Plumstead provide a valuable service to the needy, disabled and aged from Mowbray to Muizenberg and are requesting non-perishable food donations and donations of cleaning equipment and cleaning materials which may be dropped off at the service centre at 242 Main Road, Plumstead.
