A live music event which encourages Cape Town’s residents to connect with each other through events staged at a Woodstock park, will be launched this weekend.
The aim of Woodstock Live, the organisers explained, is to establish “an environment of creative expression and engagement through spontaneous and meaningful cultural conversations and innovative ideas to promote artistic integrity and fearlessness”.
Various socially-focused music events consisting of a series of multi genre park festivals, a tea party for the elderly and a music festival for children will be staged at Trafalgar Park, District 6, Woodstock, throughout the year.
The first Woodstock Live music concert will be held on Sunday March 20 at Trafalgar Park on the corner of Searle Street and Victoria Road in Woodstock. Gates open at 1pm, with the concert taking place from 2pm to midnight.
The line -up includes Goodluck, Das Kapital, Tresor, Mix * Blend, Los Tacos, DJ InviZAble featuring. Computer General, Manny Walters, Ben Dey and the Concrete Lions, and The Liminals.
Tickets are R130 at the gate and R120 if pre-booked. Children under 18, pay R80 and those under 12 enter for free – but they must be accompanied by an adult.
