More than 120 golfers from around the world competed for a R2 million prize in the Investec South African Women’s Open at Westlake Golf Club from Thursday March 14 to Saturday March 16. Indian rookie, Diksha Dagar, 18, claimed victory, edging out former three-time champion Lee-Anne Pace from Paarl by a stroke. Fellow Ladies European Tour (LET) rookie Esther Henseleit, of Germany, and Scotland’s Michele Thomson shared third place. Played over 54 holes of stroke-play with 18 holes played each day, the player with the lowest combined aggregate score was declared the winner.
