I often wonder whether South Africans care more about making money, or saving the planet. Have you noticed that these days at all the supermarket checkouts it is a long line of little bits of plastic wrapped around all sorts of “temptations” to buy.
These horrible little wrappers are the ones that blow into the sea, into drains, besides roads, etc. They are the worst culprits killing our seas.
So, why do our supermarkets do this? Is it a toss up – make money or ruin the planet? Surely we should be more responsible.
