About 70 children from Westlake Village enjoyed fun and games at the Muizenberg civic centre on Wednesday June 15.
Noriluthuzelo Sopazi and Andile Pango from the City’s recreation and parks department led a range of activities for the children, including dance and song.
The event was organised by ward councillor Carolynne Franklin ahead of Youth Day on Thursday June 16, and the children were ferried to the civic centre by the Westlake Taxi Association.
The children came from the Amazing Grace Upliftment Centre, a non-profit organisation that was started in 2015 by Lydia and Hugh Ingpen. Among other things, it offers remedial services to children from Westlake Primary School who are in danger of falling out of the schooling system.
