Sweet Valley Primary competed in the South African athletics championships recently and came home with many awards. Over the past months they have trained hard, initially taking part in different rounds between various school, followed by the zonal competition, then Western Province, then Western Cape and finally competing among about 17 000 schools at the South African finals in Port Elizabeth. Morgan Cope, under-10, came third in high jump at the national competition, third at the Western Cape champs and second at Western Province championships. Robyn Rorich, under-11, came fifth in South Africa hurdles. Kelly Prowse, under-12, came seventh in high jump at the nationals, Olivia Behrens, under-12, came second in high jump at the national finals, second in the Western Cape and third in the WP championships.
