Remembering all who went before

St George’s Cathedral in Cape Town invites people to hang the names of their deceased loved ones on its Remembrance Tree, before the commemoration of All Souls’ Day, which is on Wednesday November 2. All Souls’ Day is a day of prayer and remembrance for those who have died. Dean Michael Weeder said during the Covid-19 pandemic, people’s ability to grieve had been severely curtailed. On Wednesday November 2, there will be church services at 7.15am, 1.15pm and 6.30pm, where the names on the tree will be read. Here little Jacob Chiluba helps Ashley Judd to hang his “leaf memory” on the tree.
