Budding visual artist Lisa Nell’s bubbling personality holds no bounds as she explains her venture to use art to promote wellness through the hosting of her Sip & Paint Experience.
The unique Sip & Paint project of the Bergvliet resident which has its humble beginnings more than two years ago is merely an extension for her love of art.
The project, she says, is designed to provide a nurturing space for people to reconnect with their inner selves while having fun and to help them express their creativity as they embark on a journey of self-discovery, through painting, explained Nell.
No wonder, she has adopted the slogan “My Love for ART knows no bounds”
She describes her paint work as appealing to a wide spectrum of audience with her visual representation of vibrant colours and texture she aims to encourage joyful emotions when interacting with her work.
“My love for art and creating was prominently recognizable from an incredibly young age,” she explains.
But while the arts have been her first love, mother Milly drew much laughter when Lisa quipped, giggling: “My mother told me to find a proper job as an artist to get paid properly, hence I formally qualified in the financial management and supply chain management as a profession. But I converted her. She is now my biggest fan and supporter.”
She says the project is designed to add extra adventure to corporate events, birthday parties, baby shower, girls’ night, date night, kids parties and social events.
“We will make your event enjoyable, dedicated to promoting wellness by using painting in a unique way filled with creativity, laughter and self-expression. At and event each participant gets a board and various paint colours to explore their own creativeness,”
Her partner, Jazmiena Goliath, an assistant facilitator at a college for Early Childhood Development said she met Lisa two years ago during a particularly fragile time in her life, where she was introduced to painting.
“This became a way for me to reconnect with myself when I needed it the most. When I attended a Sip & Paint experience at her home, I realized how therapeutic and holistic this process is. There was one specific day when I couldn’t afford to join the session, but I offered to assist her so I could still be part of the experience.
Fast forward a year and a half, and I am now working closely with Lisa, who is not only an incredible mentor but also an inspiring artist,” said Jazmiena.
“I invite the community to attend and to come and see what we do,” she added.
The will be staging a Sip & Paint Experience at the Jack Black Brewery in Diep River on 5 September
