The Cape Town Cycle Tour was a huge success for the Ari Cancer Foundation and its development riders, Ari’s Angels(“Teenagers get a chance to compete in cycle race for cancer”, Bulletin, February 22). All the riders completed the race and now have a medal to prove it.
As first time riders, who had a short time to prepare, they impressed and won the admiration from the fans and fellow competitors. Without exception, all the riders spoke of returning next year to do it again. Garth Gunn said he would like to leave a legacy at his school, Groenvlei High, by starting a cycling club.
Ari’s Foundation is grateful to the public for the sponsorships and support they received leading up to the race, without which none of it would have been possible.
