At a recent Top-100 Feeder Schools’ event, Stellenbosch University acknowledged Bergvliet High School (BHS) for its consistency over a five-year period in delivering exceptional academic talent for admission into undergraduate programmes. Principal of Bergvliet High School, Stephen Price, pictured left, with BHS deputy principal, Patsy Demas, says the school has been widely acknowledged by Stellenbosch, and other major South African universities for its pupils who are well prepared for tertiary study and have a high conversion rate in achieving their degrees and going on to do post-graduate studies. Bergvliet High is presently sending more matriculants into tertiary study than ever before and there has been a 15 percent real increase over the past seven years of pupils achieving a Bachelor’s pass in the National Senior Certificate exams, making them eligible for tertiary study.
