Wynberg police responded swiftly to information received  about dagga cultivation at a flat in Bower Road, Plaza Place, Wynberg.

Wynberg police spokesperson, Captain Ntombi Lindispasi, said on Thursday March 28, at 10.30am, a reliable source informed them that all windows in the flat were tightly closed and covered by cloths. Also that big pipes from air conditioners were poking out from the windows.

Upon arrival Warrant Officer Petrus von Mollendorff and the crime prevention team came across the dagga plantation which resembled a laboratory consisting of over 150 dagga plants and equipment used for cultivation, including lights, fans, thermometers, sulphuric acid and gazebos.

A 25-year-old man was arrested for dealing in cannabis.
