The SANParks honorary rangers from the Table Mountain region held a ceremony on Saturday May 6, at the TMNP’s marine unit headquarters, in Kommetjie, where equipment to the value of about R75 000 was handed over to the TMNP. It included two-way radios, torches, boots and shoes, bags, lanterns, flasks and inflatable mattresses, all donated by Cape Union Mart. The marine unit was also given six boat helmets. Both Ralph Kelly, head of the unit, and Hilton Blumeris, head of TMNP visitor safety, expressed their gratitude for the donation.
