While some children may have been dreading the end of their extended summer break and the return to school, Tsakile Hlungwani, 5, couldn’t wait to get started at “big school”.
When asked about her excitement levels, as she prepared to start Grade R at Wynberg Girls’ Junior School, Tsakile said: “ It’s the best day of my life!”
The 2021 school year was to have started on Wednesday January 27, but was delayed due to the second wave of Covid-19 infections.
