Kirstenhof police are investigating the murder of Randall Peters, a 39-year-old Retreat man who was found dead on a train.
Metrorail spokeswoman Riana Scott said the body of a man with multiple stab wounds was discovered in one of the carriages of a train stabled overnight at Retreat station.
Kirstenhof police spokeswoman Sergeant Deidre Solomon said a security guard had found the man lying on the floor of a train carriage in a pool of blood, at 7.15am, on Thursday February 11. He had injuries to his head, chest and face. Paramedics pronounced him dead. He was later identified by his wife.
Sergeant Solomon said the train had left from Cape Town station before being parked at Retreat station.
