Seventeen teenagers from overseas are visiting Cape Town on a short-term Rotary Club exchange programme that the Constantia Rotary Club is involved with. The pupils, aged from 16 to 19, are from the northern hemisphere and having their summer holidays. They’re staying with the families of local pupils who will make reciprocal visits in December and January. Alessandra Valsecchi, from Lecco in Italy, is staying with the Marsberg family in Kirstenhof. Erin Marsberg, will be spending Christmas in Italy. Sophia Loos, from Landau in Germany, is with the Oehley family in Tokai, and Shannon Oehley will be going to Germany. Lea Boyaval, from Dunkirk, is with the Chapman family in Zwaanswyk and Rebecca Chapman will be going to France. As the host club, Constantia Rotary held a youth evening at Silverhurst Lifestyle Centre last month, where the exchange pupils met junior Rotarians from Westerford High School and South Peninsula High School. Club members also met the hosting families and young Rotarians David Floris, from South Peninsula High, and Gabe Hansen, from Westerford, spoke about the work their clubs are doing.
