Lynn Early, Diep River
It is all very well for council to advertise the number to call to report water leaks and for our mayor to appear on TV telling us that she takes a bucket into the shower to collect grey water. Talking is the easy part.
It took 19 and a half hours, six phone calls to the water services number, one call to the mayor’s office and for my husband to get into his vehicle and drive to the waterworks department in Kendal Road, before we saw any action taken to fix the water leak in our road.
Why are water leaks not classified as an emergency, given our current dire situation?
It is obviously just easier to tax the poor ratepayers than it is to do the job that one is paid to do.
