The Winter Life exhibition is currently showing at The Studio art gallery, Imhoff farm, until Tuesday October 31. At the opening, Tokai resident Michaela Irving said her portrait of Ammonia was inspired by a tiny, hunched figure, Ammonia (that is her real name), walking alone on crutches from Westlake Village to visit her daughter in Tokai Road. “Despite her disabilities, she was a brave, joyful woman. One day her crutches were stolen and I never saw her again,” she said. She adds that other people must have noticed her and perhaps a Bulletin reader knows what has happened to her and if anyone knows her daughter because Ms Irving would love to give her a copy of the portrait.
