Glynis Hyslop, managing director of The Forum Embassy Hill, Constantia
On Monday at about midnight one of my colleagues at Embassy Hill was locking up the venue after hosting a small international dinner, when she noticed a fire that had started just over our fence in Die Hel.
Her prompt action and the amazingly prompt response from Constantia Fire Station meant that the fire was quickly brought under control .
This fire could have had disastrous consequences for Die Hel which is a priceless asset to the community. One flared up again the following morning and again the fire department dealt with it very promptly and efficiently.
We are indeed fortunate to have this calibre of fire department and
I hope that this could be celebrated in your newspaper.
