Two suspects, one of them 13, have been arrested for possession of stolen property and armed robbery in Plumstead.
On Sunday November 12, at about 4pm, a complainant and friend were allegedly robbed at gunpoint of two cellphones while walking in Exeter Road, Plumstead.
Constable Zak Marais says the suspects fled in a silver- coloured, sedan-shaped vehicle.
Collaboration between Diep River SAPS, neighbourhood watches and security service providers later led to the arrest of two male suspects, aged 18 and 13 years respectively.
A replica firearm was found in possession of the suspects as well as the complainants’ cellphones.
The suspects were arrested on charges of possession of stolen property and armed robbery and detained at Diep River police for further investigation.

Diep River police is also investigating a case of business robbery after a bed shop in Main Road, Plumstead, was robbed of cash and cellphones on Tuesday November 14 at about 3pm.
Two men entered the shop, tied up a worker in the shop and demanded cash and two cellphones. No shots were fired and no injuries were sustained.

Diep River SAPS thanked all community-based partnerships/structures who are active in the fight against crime. Station management urged residents to keep on being the
eyes and ears of the police as the community is the most important role-players in the fight against crime and to report any suspicious behaviour to their nearest police station.
Wynberg police held a joint operation on Thursday November 16 with the South African Dental Technicians Council and the Health Professions Council of South Africa, which led to two arrests.
Wynberg police spokesperson, Captain Ntombi Nqunqeka, said a raid was conducted and two foreign men have been arrested and charged with operating an illegal laboratory, unlawful manufacturing of dentures and possession of unmounted artificial teeth without a permit in Wynberg CBD.
“These unregistered laboratories are putting the lives of the public at risk and they are breaking the law,” says Captain Nqunqeka.
On Saturday November 4 a gardener was collecting compost in Wycombe Avenue, Constantia, when he came across a decomposed body in the bushes and informed the police.
Captain Nqunqeka says it looks like the person was sleeping there. According to the forensics the body is of an elderly female. She was dressed in black leggings with zipped pockets in front, a purple jersey, an off-white jacket and she had a black and purple sports/ duffle bag next to her.

Wynberg police also need eye witnesses to a hit-and-run incident earlier this year to come forward.
On May 19 this year, a 27-year-old man was walking in Wynberg Main Road at 9.55pm when he was knocked by a white sedan.
He was unable to see the registration number.
He was hospitalised for a month and unconscious for a month in hospital with both legs and his spine broken. He recently started talking.
