Former public protector, Thuli Madonsela, delivered the sermon at Christ Church Constantia’s feast of title service on Sunday November 20.
She told the congregation: “We are living in troubled times and the people are hungry for justice and hungry for food.”
But she said society was changing. “There are bridges of hope instead of walls of fear.”
She believed everyone could make a difference. “Let your light shine. Show kindness. Be a game-changer.”
Professor Madonsela is the Law Trust Chair in Social Justice and Law at the University of Stellenbosch, where she conducts and co-ordinates social justice research and teaches constitutional and administrative law.
