Police are investigating after a woman was shot dead by gunmen near the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on Thursday morning.
The shooting happened on the corner of Church Street and Brodie Road, at about 10.45am, according to provincial police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Malcolm Pojie.
“Crime scene experts are still combing the scene. Preliminary reports reveal that the unknown deceased, was walking in the street near the court when she was approached by unknown gunmen who started shooting at her, wounding her fatally. She succumbed to injury on the scene and was declared as dead by medical personnel,” said Lieutenant Colonel Pojie.
The motive for the killing is part of the police investigation.
