Residents of Douglas Murray Home for the Aged enjoyed a musical Mandela Day.
After Cafda School of Skills students pampered the residents of the Retreat-based home and served them a tea from the staff of Southern Destinations, Cape Town Opera performers and St Mary’s Roman Catholic School pupils sang for the residents at Douglas Murray.
During the afternoon tea, the Douglas Murray Home staff were served soup and sandwiches by the American International School staff members, while the residents were entertained by a live band courtesy of Syntell Business Solutions staff.
“The spirit of ubuntu, togetherness, humanity and compassion was felt in the home throughout the day on Mandela Day as we were well blessed by various donors,” said the home’s CEO, Fred Daniels.
