The letter “Going about the right way” (Bulletin, May 11), refers.
The request in 2014 for the closure of Monty Road was not supported by Transport for Cape Town (TCT) – the City of Cape Town’s transport authority at the time. The findings were based on an investigation conducted by TCT at the time.
The City has not received any new information that may warrant a new investigation or a change of the previous decision.
The City encourages residents to report crime to the South African Police Service who have an oversight role with regard to addressing crime.
